“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” – Gandhi

My heart has always been with Hall County. I was raised here and stayed here for school, graduating from North Hall High School and the University of North Georgia (formerly NGCSU).
Even as an adult, I’ve never ventured far from home, living and working here my entire professional career – with the past seven years spent serving this community that I love as your Tax Commissioner.

This passion for helping my longtime neighbors – coupled with my experience in public accounting, the government sector and private enterprise – has driven innovation in YOUR Tag/Tax Office. Meanwhile, my involvement with local and state boards has kept me connected to the community and current with best practices in the tax office business.

Professionally, I serve on the Leadership Council for The Georgia Society of CPAs and have been a longtime member of the Georgia Society of CPAs (including past member of its Leadership Class) and the American Institute of CPAs. I am also actively involved with the Georgia Association of Tax Officials and serve as executive board member and conference chair with TCTECH (Tax Commissioners Technology). TCTECH provides continuing education to leverage technology for greater efficiency and service in tax offices.

Locally, I am a Junior Achievement of Georgia board member, an organization that teaches the importance of financial literacy to adolescents. I also am a founding member and supporter of WomenSource, a nonprofit organization that empowers women with personal and professional resources. Additional community involvement includes Leadership Hall County, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce (past associate board member), and the Gainesville Rotary Club. I’ve also served on local boards with American Red Cross, the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue and Lanier Canoe 2003.

Above all, it has been family that has kept me grounded. My parents raised me along with my four sisters and brothers to enjoy family time and support each other. I am so fortunate to have that foundation and such great experiences growing up on the lake and vacationing in our motor home. To this day, I enjoy boating, skiing, eating, health and wellness self-improvement – and generally taking on all new experiences in life.

Of course, most of my time over the past decade has been devoted to your tag/tax office. It is where we touch the lives of Hall County residents at least twice a year with property and motor vehicle transactions. To me, this office is the “face of Hall County government.” And every day I strive to make it the very best we can be -- out of respect and love for this wonderful community. That is not only my passion. It is my promise.

All the best,
